It is a privilege to serve as the Program Administrator for the Community Transition Program (CTP) in the David Douglas School District.
Our Community Transition Program is dedicated to supporting young adults as they build the skills, confidence, and connections needed for a successful transition to adult life. We are committed to providing meaningful learning experiences that promote independence, self-advocacy, employment readiness, and active participation in the community.
David Douglas School District provides Transition Services to students ages 18–21 who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and have earned a Modified Diploma, Extended Diploma, or Certificate of Attendance.
Transition services are individualized educational activities and supports designed to help students with disabilities achieve measurable postsecondary goals in education, employment, independent living, and community engagement.
At CTP, our programming focuses on five key areas of adult transition:
- Academics for Life and Adult Education
- Independent Living Skills
- Vocational Training and Employment Readiness
- Community Participation
- Recreation and Leisure Opportunities
We are honored to partner with students, families, and community organizations to help each individual reach their unique goals and prepare for life beyond high school.
